The one-liner
A camping and paddling community built on real trips in the American South.
What they actually sell
Camping Wilderness Skool is run by Rodney Thompson. The front-page promise is "Camping, paddling, survival & outdoor skills from real trips." The public offer sits at $19 a month. A free trial sits on the join path. Copy also points to an annual option around $109 a year. The promise is to help members plan and complete their first or next overnight trip, with 15 courses and weekly calls. Inside sit 22 courses. The page does not spell out a money-back promise. What stands out is how directly the page names the result a buyer wants.
Who pays and why
Campers, paddlers and outdoor beginners. The pull is learning from people who have done it. They pay for practical courses, daily discussions and weekly live calls.
Where the members come from
Rodney Thompson links out to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and a website from the page. That points to members arriving through free content first, then paying once they trust the voice behind it. Rodney Thompson's profile line reads: "Blackwater Outdoor Journeys: 0 to 18K subs in a year. CWS teaches the skills behind it. YGS teaches the system behind that."
What's holding it back
Its regional focus may feel less relevant to people far away.
Steal this
Promise one clear first win, such as your first overnight trip.
Would this work in another niche?
Yes for any outdoor hobby, such as sailing. Weak for indoor skills.

“I think it’s a darn good page. Great way to get to know people, spread your own knowledge and ideas. Learn more from others. All in all good page”
Kenneth Berry
“What a community! Led by Rodney Thomson and he takes the forum very seriously. There are daily prompts to stimulate the brain, Field Notes for Premium members, and I cannot recall a community posting or reply that he did not personally weigh in on. Then there is the classroom. I have worked in the first four modules, each with a video type lesson, written summary, additional references, and an assignment. He has also compiled the modules in their entirety into one document. Very impressive.”
