The one-liner
A $5 sourdough academy with Saturday bake-alongs and no gatekeeping.
What they actually sell
Crust & Crumb Academy by Henry Hunter is a Skool for home bakers who want to read dough by sight and feel instead of following recipes blindly. The public offer sits at $5 a month. Members get structured sourdough courses, weekly Saturday bake-alongs, monthly baking challenges, dough-reading training, a recipe pantry, tools to convert between sourdough and yeast, custom baking tools and a coaching-not-judgment culture for flat loaves and strange starters. Henry is framed as author of Sourdough for the Rest of Us, a six-time bread author, former farmers market baker and founder of a top Skool bread community, with a large Baking Great Bread at Home following referenced in his bio. Inside sit forty-five courses. ProveWorth certification is cited on the lander.
Who pays and why
Home bakers ashamed of dense crumb and mysterious starters. The frustration is everyone else seeming to get sourdough except them. They pay a tiny fee for live bake-alongs and kind coaching on ugly loaves.
Where the members come from
Henry's Facebook, Instagram, bakinggreatbread.com and YouTube, plus the large free baking community brand, feed this academy. The Skool is the paid coaching layer behind that audience. Exact follower counts stay off the about page.
What's holding it back
At five dollars unit economics depend on volume and upsells. If Saturday bake-alongs slip, members who joined for live help will feel they bought another recipe blog.
Steal this
Run a sourdough membership at pocket-change pricing with weekly live bake-alongs and an explicit coaching-not-judgment culture for failed loaves.
Would this work in another niche?
Yes for other home-craft skills such as fermentation or pastry. Weak for professional bakery training that needs food-safety credentials.
