The one-liner
A laser cutting maker community with free SVGs and paid tiers for pro files and business modules.
What they actually sell
Laser Lab by WilmerWoodWorks, run by Steve Wilmer, lives on Skool. A free tier sits at the front door, with Premium and VIP upgrades above it. Steve Wilmer, the maker and YouTuber behind WilmerWoodWorks, partners with brands such as Longer, Algo Laser and Creality. Free members get discussions, weekly free SVGs and LightBurn 101 lessons. Premium unlocks the PRO SVG Vault, themed monthly bundles, early access and 10% off his shop. VIP adds business modules on pricing, branding and affiliate income, monthly livestreams and project feedback. Inside sit 9 courses. A formal money-back promise is not spelled out on the about page.
Who pays and why
Laser cutter owners, from first projects to people building a maker business. The pain is wasted material and time on untested designs, and not knowing how to sell. They join for tested SVG files, LightBurn tutorials and business-building modules.
Where the members come from
Steve Wilmer's YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and website presence appears to feed the room. The Skool community reads as the member back end for people already drawn to that work. Exact follower counts stay off the public page.
What's holding it back
Free SVGs are common online. The paid vault has to stay ahead on quality and freshness to keep members subscribed.
Steal this
Add a business-building tier above the craft content, so hobbyists who start selling have a reason to upgrade.
Would this work in another niche?
Yes for other maker tools such as 3D printers, Cricut or embroidery machines. Weak for crafts with no files to share.
